Design support

ePIXfab offers limited design support to MPW customers:

  • Design rule checking of GDSII files
  • Support on making valid mask files
  • Support on components and component parameters
    • based on known components and results
    • not guaranteeing any performance or other guarantee
  • First-time users can get additional design support from the PhotonFAB project.

DRC

DRC software should be used by the customer to check the design before submitting to ePIXfab. A DRC deck is available in the design kit for standardized technology.

If you do not have DRC software available or cannot obtain it, ePIXfab can perform the DRC for you.

  • Submit the GDS file to the technology responsible of the MPW shuttle
  • You will receive the DRC output
  • Read our guidelines to interprete the output and correct your design

As most often a number of iterations will be necessary, please try to obtain and run DRC software yourself before sending it to ePIXfab.

Design service

ePIXfab does not offer a design service.

However, you may contact imec or CEA-LETI to enquire about design services. Design by skilled imec or CEA-LETI engineers may be possible if there is a mutual scientific interest. A formal bilateral or funded project may also be defined.
