Building the food chain from research to the market
Organized by ePIXfab (http://www.epixfab.eu)
30 April 2010,
IMEC, Leuven - Belgium
The silicon photonics forum brings together experts to discuss and build the roadmap for access to silicon photonics technologies, covering the whole food chain. As an emerging technology, silicon photonics has come to a point where important steps must be taken to make highly functional photonic ICs an industrial reality as well as to keep it within reach of academic R&D budgets. We invite specialists in silicon photonics, optical and semiconductor component application, design automation, prototyping, manufacturing, packaging and test to join us to learn more about access to technologies and services and to discuss the key issues for the future development of the food chain. The forum is organized by ePIXfab, the silicon photonic IC prototyping initiative by IMEC and CEA-LETI, with support from the European FP7 PhotonFAB project. This project aims to lower the barriers for access to silicon photonic ICs for academic and SME R&D.

The Forum will be preceded by a silicon photonics tutorial to bring attendees wishing to learn more about this emerging technology up to speed.
Access to the forum is free of charge but registration is required.
